Educate, advocate and empower

CSD’s Human Services group specializes in one-of-a-kind services that meet the needs of deaf and hard of hearing individuals, their families, and service providers nationwide. We provide services in person and via video conferencing.

CSD’s experience in human services goes all the way back to its roots began in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. CSD began as a local provider of services for the Deaf and hard of hearing in Sioux Falls. Today, it operates offices in Iowa, Minnesota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Texas.

Some of the services provided include:

Community Education Programs:

CSD community education programs combine communication access and information with a goal of enhancing quality of life. We provide programs throughout the country including adult basic education, computer literacy, health seminars, American Sign Language instruction, citizenship, ADA, Assistive Technology resources, interpreting mentoring, cross cultural and sensitivity training, and more.

Community Support Programs:

CSD community support program specialists aim down barriers to communication access through case management, advocacy, peer support, employment and community integration skills training. Our caring staff provides individualized support, resources and advocacy to help build empowered lives.

Deaf Domestic Violence Programs:

CSD deaf domestic violence programs empower deaf families and communities to live violence free lives. Our deaf advocates are trained to provide advocacy, support, and resources to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and other forms of violence.
