CSD was founded to help break through the barriers created for the Deaf and hard of hearing by lack of access to communication.

Many of these barriers have largely disappeared in the decades since, in no small part because of the Interpreting services that CSD has provided on a daily basis for the last 35 years. CSD has an enormous number of Deaf and hard of hearing employees, friends, and family who rely on ASL interpreters every single day. Because these people are also our customers, we are confident that our ASL Interpretation services are the highest quality of anywhere in the world.

We understand the importance of effective communication, and we appreciate the value of a qualified interpreter. Every single one of our interpreters are certified, and qualified to interpret in complex and challenging scenarios such as medical emergencies, legal situations, or higher education. Because it could be one of us who calls upon a CSD interpreter, we make sure we never cut any corners.

CSD’s National Interpreter Referral Service makes it simple to request a qualified interpreter at a reasonable rate. We will ensure that no matter where you are in the United States, no matter what the situation is, we will deliver an interpreter to you.

While CSD provides interpreting services in all 50 states, we have an expanded presence in Maryland, Minnesota, South Dakota, North Dakota, and Texas.

Video Remote Interpretation

It is not always possible, or even cost-effective to send a sign language interpreter to be physically present in the same room as the Deaf/hard of hearing person and the hearing individual. In these situations, CSD offers a Video Remote Interpretation service.

CSD VRI enables deaf and hearing people who are in the same room to communicate through an interpreter in a remote location, using a video connection on devices such as an iPad or laptop.
