The vCSD (video CSD) program provides community services via video conferencing, videophones or webcam technology. Our network of specialists (clinicians, educators, and consultants) provide direct services to deaf and hard of hearing individuals and their families using American Sign Language and an understanding of their daily lives. Too often deaf and hard of hearing individuals are unable to find appropriate services due to the national lack of deaf providers (or those fluent in ASL) across the country. There are those whom live in rural areas and are isolated. Video technology overcomes these traditional barriers to accessing qualified services.
vCSD is currently providing behavioral health (mental health and drug & alcohol counseling) services to deaf and hard of hearing consumers. Our clinicians provide individual and group counseling using videophones and webcam on computers, along with consumer support. vCSD also provides domestic violence services, advocacy, and consultation with community providers and interpreters.
